Initially when I entered the classroom, the interview with owner Michael Lebowitz was in regards to what sets their studio apart from everyone else and their innovative approach.  For starters their office is composed of different teams that are able to engage and collaborate in real time because they sit together.  Each team consists of designers in different specialties, such as coders, pre-rendered 3D, flash anime, motion graphics among others to compile each unique team.

They do not accept clients or employees that they feel are not a good fit.  For instance if an intern is working throughout their studies and they feel they may be a good fit, they would bring them on board considering their willing.  As far as clients go they won't accept a job if they feel something is off or they wouldn't be able to produce the quality of work they expect.

It seems as though they specialize in motion, or interactive web-based design, but also take on huge projects like a Target project every New Years where they rent out all the jumbotrons in Time Square.  The project they built for Nike that was an interactive webpage that enabled the user to control a simulated runner or a basketball player dribbling, in which every button on the keyboard activates different motions and graphics.  Another large company they do work for that I found interesting was Royal Caribbean, the interactive page allowed users to enter a house with a suitcase on the bed in each room with different props they would drag into the suitcase, and after completing the tour of the house they would have multiple destinations that would fit their interest. That was the Vacation Fun-A-Lyzer.

All in all they prefer to be super clear about what they provide, & since they are such constant innovators & "out the box" thinkers sometimes ideas or campaigns won't have the effect they envisioned.  This is why they make it very clear that it's based on their experience they expect a certain outcome, & if that outcome is not achieved they already advised the client that they are going with their gut feeling.  The owner tied it together towards the end and said " what separates good from great is the last 10% of polishing, " & I couldn't agree more.
