A Visit & Q & A Session: Inside the Studio w/ RoN MiRiELL0

Upon entering the studio, was a warm greeting from the man himself...  Mr. Miriello.  After introducing myself was given a name tag and picked the comfiest seat in the house. He would refer back to the analogy of a heart surgeon, "back then," as is the same now, same process different tools through out our visit.  Referring to the new tools such as computer graphics, and the industry in general, as he made it clear that you're not gonna be making the big bucks, or doing your best work right outta college.  Also that it is a competitive field and that we would produce our best work later in life. Ron made it clear that he devotes his time choosing and working on projects he absolutely loves.  Clarifying that it took 30 years to reach this stage in his career, but also emphasized the fact that you "can't kill the young Ron," meaning hold on to your youth, as that is where the most creativity and style welcome from.  He also advised to spend all your time ...

Big Spaceship Design Studio Interviews w/ Owner's & Staff from Lynda.com⥥ Initially when I entered the classroom, the interview with owner Michael Lebowitz was in regards to what sets their studio apart from everyone else and their innovative approach.  For starters their office is composed of different teams that are able to engage and collaborate in real time because they sit together.  Each team consists of designers in different specialties, such as coders, pre-rendered 3D, flash anime, motion graphics among others to compile each unique team. They do not accept clients or employees that they feel are not a good fit.  For instance if an intern is working throughout their studies and they feel they may be a good fit, they would bring them on board considering their willing.  As far as clients go they won't accept a job if they feel something is off or they wouldn't be able to produce the quality of work they expect.
